Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD) is now seeking assistance from the public in locating a vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run incident that left a man dead on August 28. The call came in around 3:02 a.m. that day, when police were alerted to an accident involving injuries near South Nellis Boulevard and East Harmon Avenue, as per a statement released by LVMPD.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim on the ground who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle after having been reportedly stabbed multiple times. Despite efforts by medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. With a physical altercation preceding the hit and run, detectives have gathered that the deceased male had been involved in a dispute with a female, during which she allegedly stabbed him in self-defense, the LVMPD reports.

The investigation led detectives to determine that the male, after the altercation, tried to flee and was subsequently hit by an orange 2015 Dodge Challenger, bearing the California license plate 8MFG144. After hitting the man, the driver of the Challenger did not stay at the scene and is now sought by the LVMPD.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the vehicle in question, described as orange, brandishing the scars of a recent collision, to contact the LVMPD. The registration details and the distinctive color hint at the Challenger being few in number; however, the suspect vehicle has eluded police detection thus far. The department urges individuals with knowledge of the incident to come forward, to aid in the resolution of this case that has been left hauntingly unresolved. Further details can be accessed through the LVMPD's official news release or by contacting their office directly.
