A Macomb County deputy's remarkable intervention on Gratiot Avenue has been the subject of widespread attention after she climbed into a moving truck to aid a driver in distress. The incident occurred around 2:18 p.m. when deputies responded to reports of a silver GMC Sierra driving erratically, as detailed in a report by CBS News.

The Sierra, driven by a 63-year-old man, failed to comply with the deputies’ signals and continued at about five miles per hour southbound near Remick Drive; the man appeared dazed and was unable to respond to the deputies' requests to pull over, even though they activated lights and sirens and pulled alongside him, trying to gain his attention. Deputy Miron then made a decisive move by crawling out of the passenger seat of the patrol car and entering the driver's window of the truck, securing the vehicle from further unforeseen mishaps. "I commend Deputy Miron for putting herself in harm's way to help a citizen in need and protect other drivers on the roadway," Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham stated in a Facebook post.

The situation gained control when Deputy Miron managed to stop the truck; she promptly called a family member of the driver to confirm his medical condition. Moreover, Clinton Township Fire Department personnel arrived swiftly at the scene, subsequently transporting the driver to a nearby hospital for necessary medical care. The driver's current condition has not been publicly disclosed following these events, as detailed by Audacy.
