In a testament to community and law enforcement synergy, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office reported early today that a previously missing 15-year-old boy with autism was safely located in the Clio area. According to ABC12, the boy had been reported missing from the vicinity of Saginaw and Lake roads in Vienna Township, prompting a nightlong search by air and land teams.
The coordinated search effort involved the deployment of a helicopter to scan the terrain from above while ground crews, conducted a thorough search below. Even with the growing concern for the boy’s whereabouts, officials remained tight-lipped about the specifics, neither releasing his name nor the precise time he was last seen. The Sheriff's Office ultimately shared the welcome news of his safe recovery after 8 a.m.
Additional details from the Genesee County Sheriff's Office shed light on the collaborative essence of this search. The community was alerted about the situation when the Sheriff's Office described the missing boy as "a white male with blond hair, last seen wearing light blue sweatpants, a blue University of Michigan hoodie, and black shoes." The public was urged to call 911 immediately if they had any information regarding his whereabouts.
