The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced on Saturday evening that the three missing Milo children have been located and are safe. The siblings, Master Milo, 2, Jordin Milo, 12, and Acire Milo, 14, had been last seen in Lancaster on the evening of August 30th, triggering a widespread search and concern for their safety. The Sheriff's Department expressed gratitude to "the public, the media, Aero Bureau, and deputy personnel for their tireless efforts in the search for Master, Jordin, and Acire," in a statement obtained by Nixle.
Before being found, the children had been described in detail by the authorities, with specifics about their appearances and the clothes they were last seen wearing disseminated in hopes of aiding the search. Master Milo, the youngest, was noted for his brown eyes and black hair fashioned in ponytails. The search also extended beyond Los Angeles County, with the California Highway Patrol issuing an alert across Riverside and Kern counties as well.
As of yet, no additional details regarding the circumstances of their disappearance or how they were found have been disclosed. Their last known location before disappearing was at the intersection of Berkshire Street and Stratford Street in Lancaster, and they were believed to possibly be heading towards locations on East Avenue K in Lancaster or Highland Avenue in Barstow, as per the original press release shared by the KTLA's original coverage.
The Sheriff's Information Bureau has relayed that all further information about the case will be forthcoming as it becomes available. In the interim, the community breathes a collective sigh of relief at the safe return of the Milo children. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department continues to encourage anyone with information on such cases to reach out, providing a hotline through "Crime Stoppers" and options for anonymous tips online.
