State Fair from Oct. 17 – 27, they can catch one of the four daily stops at the fairgrounds in Raleigh starting from Oct. 18. Trains will halt at 9:53 a.m., 1:46 p.m., 3:33 p.m. and 5:48 p.m., as reported on the NCDOT's official release.

Additionally, the 40th Annual Lexington Barbecue Festival, which takes place on Oct. 26, will see NC By Train making eight stops at the Lexington Hospitality Center. The location is conveniently situated a block from the festival grounds at 29 North Railroad St., making the final leg of the journey a short walk.

Prospective travelers from Charlotte, Kannapolis, Salisbury, High Point, Greensboro, Burlington, Durham, Cary and Raleigh have the option to depart at various morning and afternoon times. The train's schedule for the Barbecue Festival includes stops in Lexington at 8:43 a.m., 12:13 p.m., 3:13 p.m., and 5:29 p.m. for trips heading from Raleigh toward Charlotte, and reverse route stops from Charlotte toward Raleigh at 7:50 a.m., 11:27 a.m., 3:22 p.m., and 6:30 p.m., the NCDOT press release details.

With limited seats for these special stops, the NCDOT advises to book your tickets in advance to secure your spot on these convenient rides directly to the heart of fall festivities.
