On a quiet Saturday morning in Phelan, four individuals found themselves on the wrong side of the law when their involvement with a stolen Ford F250 led to their arrest. The recovered vehicle, which had been reported missing three days prior from Little Rock High School, was spotted outside a residence in the 9900 block of Lebec Road, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
As deputies descended on the scene after a tip from the victim's friends, they not only found the missing truck but also uncovered evidence of further illicit activities within the abode – an altered key, drugs, and paraphernalia which cast a dark shadow over the property's residents, per the official releases obtained by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.
Leading to the arrests were Kandyce Christensen and Joshua Kemp of Phelan and Laguna Hills respectively, Rudolph Romo, also a Phelan resident, and Renee Walker, the youngest of the group, age 24, whose already complicated legal tapestry thickened due to an outstanding warrant. Romo found himself charged with possession of stolen property, Kemp with narcotics possession, whilst Christensen and Walker faced the music for their outstanding warrants – all four were booked at the High Desert Detention Center, the Sheriff's Department said.
While this case might appear closed with the suspects behind bars and the vehicle back with its rightful owner, deputies have stressed that the investigation continues, pressing the importance of community involvement; they urge anyone with further information to step forward and reach out to Deputy M. Leiker at the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station.
