Reggie Bush, former NFL player and Heisman Trophy winner, experienced an attempted home invasion late Tuesday night at his Encino residence. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the incident around 11:00 p.m. after at least one suspect shattered a window of Bush's gated multi-million-dollar mansion. Upon hearing the intrusion, Bush's presence and immediate yell seemingly deterred the would-be burglar or burglars from further encroaching into the home, TMZ Sports reported.
Located in the 4700 block of Noeline Avenue, the vicinity where Bush's property resides, has seen a recent spike in such incidents, with several home invasions reported over the summer months. According to the officers who arrived at the scene, they discovered the broken glass near the back of Bush's house but confirmed that no injuries occurred and no property was taken. The famed USC running back bought the home, known for its advanced security system and private gating, in 2019 for $5.65 million, as KTLA 5 indicated.
Those investigating the crime have yet to ascertain whether the suspects managed to abscond with any of Bush's belongings before fleeing the scene. Reggie Bush, known for his 11-year NFL career and as part of the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl-winning team in 2010, was reportedly at home during the attempted invasion. The status of other family members in the residence at the time has not been clearly established, FOXLA.com noted.
Residents of the San Fernando Valley and the Westside of LA remain on high alert as the pattern of home invasions persists, raising concerns about the safety of notable individuals domiciled in these affluent sectors. Bush himself has not provided public comment regarding the incident, according to TMZ Sports.
