Struggling to keep its doors open, The Hammered Lamb in Ivanhoe Village has sounded the alarm to the local community, hoping to prevent its potential closure. The owner, Jason Lambert, took to social media to announce an all-day "Save the Lamb" fundraiser aimed for September 14, as reported by Bungalower. The fundraiser is crafted to help alleviate financial strain amid declining business, exacerbated by ongoing construction in the area impacting the establishment and its neighboring small businesses.
Lambert recently disclosed that the restaurant has had to shut its doors on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to cut down on expenses, which reflects its slowest days in terms of patronage. "This past year has been the most difficult time in the 12 years of our story," Lambert said, per Orlando Weekly. The business has to now rely heavily on the community's support to stay afloat.
The Hammered Lamb's fundraiser will not only raise the necessary funds but also allow patrons to engage with the venue they have cherished for over a decade. According to Orlando Weekly, the event will feature brunch, live music, games, special guests, and drink specials, aiming to provide supporters with an enjoyable experience.
In addition to the in-person event, an online fundraiser with a goal set of $150,000 has been launched to gather financial support. The Hammered Lamb has reached out to individuals to recount their favorite experiences at the establishment, highlighting many's personal connection with the space.
