John Albright, the Assistant Fire Chief of Sheboygan Falls, has been placed on administrative leave amid allegations of child sexual assault, as confirmed by the Sheboygan Falls Police Department. Charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16, the 45-year-old fire official's situation has prompted the local community to reckon with a deeply unsettling breach of trust, according to the WISN report.

Details of the complaint, as reported by FOX6 News, indicate that the incident occurred in either August 2008 or 2009 when the reported victim was 13 or 14 years old. During an event hosted by Albright, the victim claims to have been subject to inappropriate touch and was later assaulted by Albright, who allegedly "performed oral sex" on him. Following the assault, Albright is said to have called it "a misunderstanding" and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

In response to these allegations, Sheboygan Falls Police Chief, Aaron Wigen, expressed a commitment to transparency by having the Sheboygan Police Department handle the criminal investigation to avoid a potential conflict of interest. Albright's bond was set at $150,000 on September 19 with records indicating his detention at Sheboygan County Detention Center as of September 24.
