Authorities have levied charges against Jalin J. Foreman, 27, in connection with the fatal shooting of Jalen Whitlock, 25, that took place at a townhome in Houston. Foreman faces a murder charge as stated by officials on Thursday, and although he currently remains at large, police have released his photograph in the hope that public assistance will aid in his capture, as reported by the City of Houston news release.

The shooting occurred on Thursday around 8:35 p.m. at 8237 Locksley Road, where Houston Police and Fire Department personnel found a woman with gunshot wounds at the doorway of her residence. The woman, later identified as Ms. Whitlock was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. Originally thought to be an unknown assailant, the subsequent investigation by HPD Homicide Division detectives named Foreman, who once shared a life and two children with the victim, as the suspect. After arriving at the location and yelling at an unidentified individual, the suspect fired shots at the house, hitting Whitlock, and then driving away in a white Chevrolet Tahoe.

Detectives H. Montealegre-Cerrato and G. Rangel, assigned to the HPD Homicide Division, have urged anyone with information about Foreman's whereabouts or the suspect vehicle to come forward. In their investigation, no other injuries were reported, despite the gunfire that took place on that tragic night, targeting the house occupied by others, which remained unscathed. "A preliminary investigation determined an unknown suspect arrived at the location and began yelling at someone," the detectives conveyed in the news release, highlighting the events leading up to the fatal incident.

Currently, the police are asking the public to contribute any relevant information that might lead to Foreman's arrest. As per the news release, information can be shared with the HPD Homicide Division by calling 713-308-3600. In addition, Crime Stoppers is accepting anonymous tips at 713-222-TIPS.
