Last Saturday morning, a head-on collision on Highway 99 in Sutter County claimed the lives of three individuals and left several others injured. According to KCRA reports, the incident involved a southbound Dodge that veered across the median and collided with a Nissan headed in the opposite direction.
The crash occurred north of Highway 113 near Tudor around 11:40 a.m. The impact was severe enough to kill two occupants of the Nissan and one from the Dodge. Others involved in the incident were rushed to hospitals for various injuries, with multiple individuals taken to local hospitals for treatment, as stated by ABC10.
Following the accident, the authorities shut down northbound Highway 99 at Tudor Road, though the lanes have since been reopened. In the initial investigation, the California Highway Patrol revealed that drugs and alcohol were found in the Dodge vehicle and are believed to have played a significant role in the fatal encounter. "CHP believes alcohol was a factor in the crash," as mentioned by ABC10.
