According to Local21News, the situation was diffused when a staff member stepped in and found that the weapon was not loaded, ensuring the safety of students and faculty. The Camp Hill Police Department is currently working with the district on the investigation.

Details from a statement by Camp Hill School District Superintendent Daniel Serfass highlighted by abc27 News stated that the incident was promptly addressed, and although it is unclear what specific actions the district took, the administration's response was in line with district policy, and the safety of students and staff was immediately secured. The student in question was identified and searched by the school principal, who was alerted at about 7:45 a.m., with the airsoft weapon being uncovered.
