The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is calling on the public for assistance in tracing a person of interest in a hit and run incident that left one person seriously injured. The collision, involving a black 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan and a silver 2013 BMW sedan, took place on State Route 24 near milepost 43, in Benton County. According to WSP, the event unfolded on the afternoon of September 12 around 5:27 p.m.
Witnesses reported seeing the Dodge Grand Caravan hit the BMW head-on before two individuals, including a man identified as Mr. Roderick, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. The driver of the BMW, having suffered severe injuries in the crash, was later transported to a local hospital. Right after the collision, law enforcement agencies launched a search for Mr. Roderick but to no avail, who was last seen fleeing the accident's site.
In a coordinated effort to locate Mr. Roderick, the WSP has partnered with various law enforcement agencies to search the area around the crash site. However, these efforts have yet to yield results, and Mr. Roderick remains at large. The WSP is reiterating its request for assistance and highlighting the vital role that public participation plays in apprehending suspects involved in serious offenses.
