The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has made a significant breakthrough in the September murder case involving 40-year-old David Montero. According to an update released by the Sheriff's Department, Angel Guzman-Banuelos, a 19-year-old from San Jacinto, has been arrested and charged with murder. Guzman-Banuelos was apprehended in San Diego County with the assistance of the Riverside County District Attorney's Gang Impact Team on Thursday.
The arrest marks an important moment in an investigation that began over a month ago when deputies were called to an assault at a park on East Main Street in San Jacinto. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Montero with traumatic injuries and provided immediate medical assistance until paramedics arrived. Montero stayed in the hospital before being pronounced dead on September 25, prompting the Central Homicide Unit to take over the investigation.
