According to the official City of Arlington website, homeowners can now unload a range of bulky items at the city landfill without opening their wallets for the first three trips each year.
To take advantage of this deal, you simply need a current Texas driver's license or state ID and an Arlington Water Utilities account to present at the landfill's scale house. And if your details don't match up, or you need to designate someone else in your household as an authorized user, the Action Center's on standby at 817-459-6777 to help sort things out. Although it's a freebie for Arlington homes, don't get any ideas about handing off the privilege.
The landfill address for GPS navigators is 800 Mosier Valley Road, where the gates swing open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. As for those living the apartment life or who own multiple properties, regular landfill fees will apply. Before you haul your items, make sure to check out what's accepted at the landfill, as some restrictions do apply.
While regular trash and larger items are landfill-bound, other materials like paint, motor oil, or pesticides need different handling. For those nasty bits of hazardous household waste, the City of Fort Worth's Environmental Collection Center at 6400 Bridge Street will take them without charging you a dime. Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. are your windows to drive over and dispose responsibly.
