According to the initial bulletin, officers arrived at the scene around 9:49 p.m. and found the young man critically wounded, the case quickly escalating to a homicide investigation as the severity of Cooper's head wound was revealed and the unfortunate death occurred just a day after he was transported to the hospital for emergency care although the suspect was already in custody by the time the young man passed away. Investigators pieced together evidence that pinpointed Felder as the shooter, leading to his apprehension in the 300 block of South Catherine Street later in the month on October 24.
Felder has since been confined to the Central Booking Intake Facility, now facing charges of first-degree murder, with authorities currently detaining him with no bail option. The case holds its breath under the weight of the judicial process, as the wheels of judgment slowly begin to churn.
