Boyz II Men will perform the national anthem at the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, blending their harmonies with the excitement of racing. As reported by PEOPLE, the group, known for their residencies on The Strip, will sing from the track on November 23, at 9:45 p.m.
Wanya Morris, a member of Boyz II Men, humorously shared his anticipation for the performance. Having had the experience of singing at notable events such as the 1998 Super Bowl and the 1996 Olympics, Morris said, "I’m not sure if F1 has ever experienced hearing a Boyz II Men anthem, but we’ve been told it’s pretty sexy," in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “It’s something to tell our grandchildren,” he added, reflecting on the uniqueness of the upcoming gig.
The race, part of Formula One's return to Las Vegas starting on November 21, promises a blend of speed and entertainment. According to KSNV, festivities are planned throughout the three-day event that's expected to attract racing and music fans alike. The strip will transform into a 3.8-mile circuit where drivers will tear down the track, reaching speeds over 200 mph.
The T-Mobile Zone will feature a lineup of notable artists alongside the thrilling sounds of racing. Ludacris, known for his ties to the "Fast & Furious" franchise, will headline the music stage, joined by One Republic and Alesso. Alesso shared his excitement for F1 in Vegas, stating, “F1 always brings together so many different types of people who have an intrinsic love of the sport and cars. Music is also a great connector of people,” as reported by PEOPLE.
