An investigation has been initiated by the 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) following an arrest in Brighton where a man sustained serious injuries. The man, who was a suspect in an assault and domestic violence case, was injured during the apprehension by the police, as mentioned by Denver7.
Officers were dispatched to BJAA Park around 10:45 a.m. Monday in response to a domestic disturbance that allegedly escalated from a verbal confrontation to the man physically assaulting a woman. The Brighton Police Department stated that the suspect was uncooperative when officers arrived and seemed to resist arrest, which led to his serious bodily injury.
