The Columbus Division of Police reports that 32-year-old Kendall White was driving his gray Chevy Malibu westbound on Frebis Avenue, near Ohio Avenue, at around 6:13 a.m. when the accident occurred. According to an NBC4i report, White crossed the double yellow line, entering the path of eastbound traffic before the impact with the pole.
The aftermath of the incident was swiftly attended by medics, who transported White to Grant Medical Center in a critical condition. Despite efforts to save his life, White was pronounced dead at 7:23 a.m., local police said.
