As the City of Dallas turns its focus to a pervasive issue that often lurks unseen, community leaders and law enforcement will come together to shine a light on the fight against domestic violence. A special breakfast event, marking Domestic Violence Awareness Month, has been announced to pay tribute to those on the frontlines helping victims and breaking the cycle of abuse.
The gathering is slated for October 16 at Dallas City Hall, specifically in the Sixth Floor Flag Room, from 8 to 9 a.m. This occasion serves both as an acknowledgment of tireless efforts by local nonprofits, legislators, and advocates and as an opportunity for community members to receive an update directly from the Dallas Police Department. A proclamation will follow at the City Council meeting, highlighting the importance of this ongoing crusade for safer families and neighborhoods.
Confirmed distinguished guests include the Honorable Gay Donnell Willis, Council Member representing District 13, as well as representatives from the Dallas Police Department, as reported by the City of Dallas website. Those in attendance are invited to wear purple, an emblematic hue representing the cause of domestic violence awareness.
