The Dallas Police Department is revisiting the cold case of an unidentified woman found dead in Lake Ray Hubbard, reaching out to the public once again for any information that might lead to a resolution. The body of Jane Doe, discovered on April 2, 1998, remains a mystery, with the case's details proving as elusive as her name. Officials have released a forensic artist's rendition of the woman to spark new leads, hoping that someone might recognize her face, as reported by the Dallas Police Department.
Over a quarter-century has passed since the discovery at 4:07 p.m., when the unknown woman's remains surfaced in the waters of Lake Ray Hubbard. Despite the years, authorities remain committed to finding answers yet her identity and the circumstances surrounding her death continue to evade detectives, and now Detective Patty Belew takes the lead in seeking justice in a case marked by the shadows of the past.
Investigators have reiterated their appeal to the public, encouraging anyone with relevant knowledge to step forward. "The investigation and evidence determined the woman was a victim of homicidal violence," said the Dallas Police Department report, underscoring the severity of this unsolved crime. To jog memories that have perhaps faded with time, the police have provided a case number, 234123-G.
