The city of Denver is set to thoroughly revamp the Energize Denver Building Performance Policy. Announced on October 7th, the initiative aims to propel the city towards its climate goals, with an array of updates and enhancements mapped out for the policy. Key changes will include a detailed revision of the existing rules and increased energy performance coaching, alongside fresh rebate offers scheduled for 2025, set to incentivize audits and efficiency upgrades.
According to the City and County of Denver, these measures are meant to not only support building owners but also to deepen the engagement of the community in meeting Denver's environmental targets. The city is looking to actively engage with the public to better understand their difficulties with the Energize Denver requirements. Already, 25% of the city's buildings have achieved their Energize Denver targets, setting a benchmark for the rest.
In their endeavor to fortify Denver's climate initiatives, city authorities are extending a collaborative hand to its citizens. As Denver works to become more sustainable, the updates to the Energize Denver plan are expected to create stronger compliance frameworks for building owners and provide additional resources and financial aid for those aiming to green their infrastructure.
Updates to the rules and regulations, expanded energy performance strategy coaching, and new rebates for energy audits and efficiency improvements starting in 2025, are among the main pillars of the improved policy. The move signals Denver's earnest commitment to fostering an environment where sustainability is ingrained in the very fabric of urban living.
