The report indicates that at 7:00 pm on Monday, the diver found themselves stranded and perched atop their vehicle in the river's grasp. Pierce County Deputies, joined by Swift Water and Dive Teams, as well as the Fife Police and Tacoma Police Officers, coordinated the extraction and subsequent tow of the car from the chilly currents.
Within hours, a second incident unfolded at Bethel High School. Yesterday, at around 4:40 am, a Hyundai sedan, reported stolen from Graham, shattered the peace by crashing through the school's fence and ramming into the front doors, "The engine was running and no one was seen near the vehicle," as stated on the blotter. Deputies, alerted by the 911 call regarding the wreckage at the school, responded and had the vehicle towed away, but the suspects remain unidentified. As a result, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department is calling on the public for any information related to the theft and vandalism, encouraging anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers' app or website.
