An early morning blaze in Milwaukee has left a home significantly damaged and one resident hospitalized for injuries sustained in the escape. The fire occurred near 35th and Courtland around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters arrived to find a desperate situation with two people on a second-floor porch, according to reports from FOX6 News.

Acacsha Jackson, a mother of four, recounted to FOX6 News how she awoke to the sound of glass breaking and quickly discovered the house filling with smoke. Helping her three sons to safety by encouraging them to jump from the second-floor, one of the children was injured in the process and subsequently taken to the hospital. Fire crews then safely rescued Jackson and her remaining son from the balcony. Grandmother of the children, while conversing with a reporter from TMJ4, mentioned that some of the children made their escape by jumping out of windows.

The swift response from Milwaukee firefighters ensured that the two trapped on the porch were brought to safety. As reported by WISN, one individual received minor injuries and needed hospital treatment. While the fire was contained quickly, the home suffered heavy damage, leaving it visibly marred by the morning's turmoil.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. Firefighters have not yet determined the origins of the conflagration that cleaved through the heart of an ordinary Milwaukee home. Details about the event remain sparse, with officials yet to release comprehensive information about the extent of the damage or what may have sparked the flames.
