The aeronautics landscape of Fort Worth is poised to significantly expand with the news of Embraer, the Brazilian aerospace company, investing $70 million to erect new facilities at Perot Field Alliance Airport. Embraer's strategic move comes after receiving the green light from the Fort Worth City Council, which approved incentives for the service center dedicated to maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for the increasing number of E-Jets in the United States. As per the plans shared by Embraer, the company is set to commence operations in an existing hangar by the second quarter of 2025 and aims to complete a second hangar by 2027.
This hefty investment is forecasted not just to bolster Embraer’s presence in the U.S., but also to significantly augment their MRO services network, increasing capacity by 53%. What’s more, the facility is expected to generate approximately 250 new jobs in the aviation sector within Texas. Carlos Naufel, president and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, highlighted the importance of the expansion saying, “We have a longstanding relationship with the state of Texas and look forward to our partnership with Hillwood at Alliance, and the opening of this new service center will create hundreds of highly skilled jobs in a vital segment for the aviation industry,” according to the City of Fort Worth.
The addition of Embraer's new service center is poised to fortify the global network which already includes 80 authorized centers along with 12 service centers owned by the company. With the new facilities, Embraer's reach and service capabilities are expected to expand substantially. In response to the announcement, Ross Perot Jr, chairman and CEO of Hillwood, expressed excitement about welcoming Embraer. He said, “This new facility will bring 250 high-quality jobs to Fort Worth and North Texas, further strengthening our region’s role as a key hub for aerospace innovation,” as per the City of Fort Worth.
