West Hollywood was the scene of a tragic vehicle collision on Thursday, resulting in multiple injuries and one fatality. Traffic investigators from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station reported a fatal accident involving two Ford SUVs around 4:37 pm at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Spaulding Avenue.
Preliminary findings point to an intersection crossing by both vehicles just before the collision. A male adult, the sole occupant of the northbound SUV on Spaulding, collided with an eastbound SUV on Fountain Avenue, which had a male driver and a female front passenger, as detailed by the West Hollywood Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff. In a sharp twist of fortune, the passenger, despite being quickly transported to the hospital, later succumbed to her injuries. The male drivers of both vehicles sustained injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, as per the West Hollywood Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff. At this time, it is unclear whether speed, alcohol, or drugs were contributing factors.
