During a special City Council meeting last Tuesday, the City of Henderson officially welcomed Scott Vivier as the newest leader of its Fire Department, the city announced yesterday. Vivier, boasting 24 years of dedication to the department, steps into the role following the retirement of former Chief Shawn White.
"As a native of Henderson, I am deeply honored to be Chief of the Henderson Fire Department. This is not just a career for me, but a personal commitment to serve the community that has shaped me," Henderson Fire Chief Scott Vivier expressed his commitment in a statement obtained by the City of Henderson's official website. His contributions to the department are well-noted; he has been at the forefront of paramedic training programs and mental health support for emergency responders, through the 'Emotional First Aid & Peer Support' class, an initiative applauded for its attention to the mental well-being of those running into the fire.
Vivier's qualifications are solid, with a B.S. in Emergency Services Administration from Utah Valley University and a law degree from UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law. "Scott Vivier is a proven leader who takes great pride in the Henderson Fire Department. We are excited to have him in this role to enhance the department's services for our community," said Henderson City Manager and CEO Richard Derrick, as reported by the City of Henderson.
The City of Henderson expects Chief Vivier to keep improving the fire department to meet the city’s changing needs. Throughout his service, he has shown a strong commitment to enhancing the department and addressing the city's growing demands. His leadership has been characterized by innovation and dedication, making him the obvious choice for the 12th chief of the Henderson Fire Department, as noted by Richard Derrick.
