The Dallas Airport System (DAS) is launching its second Grown Folks Jazz Night on October 18, an event celebrating the rich cadences of jazz, set against the backdrop of vintage aircraft at the Commemorative Air Force Headquarters located at Dallas Executive Airport. According to the City of Dallas, the venue opens its doors to those aged 21+ from 7 pm to 10 pm for a free night of entertainment, with parking also at no cost.
The night is not just about music; it's also about creating memories. Limited seating will be provided although attendees wanting to ensure a spot to enjoy the performances by Reuben Lael Griffin, Joel McCray, and Rob Holbert are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Flavorsome bites and sips will be available for purchase from TakeOff Bar & Grill, adding a gourmet twist to the notes floating in the air. And it's not every day you get to snap a 360-degree interactive photo.
As a gathering point for community interaction and cultural enrichment, the event highlights Dallas's ongoing investment in arts and leisure activities accessible to the public. The Grown Folks Jazz Night isn't just a platform for seasoned musicians to showcase their craft but is also a communal space for residents to engage with the city’s vibrant jazz scene. It's an opportunity for Dallas to shine a spotlight on the harmonious blend of art, history, and recreation.
