NewsNation's Libbey Dean reports that JD Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, is set to appear on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast in Austin this coming Wednesday, as per KXAN. Vance's visit follows closely behind Donald Trump, who also recently joined Rogan on the most popular program on Spotify. The two appearances underscore the significance of Texas in this year's election cycle, with the state drawing substantial attention from both presidential campaigns.
While Trump opted for a brief media event to talk border security near Austin's airport after his three-hour podcast stint, JD Vance's plans beyond the Rogan interview are presently undisclosed. However, the American-Statesman's coverage of Vance's upcoming appearance highlights a broader strategy aimed at enticing young male voters to support the Trump-Vance ticket.
In connection with the podcast, Joe Rogan expressed his interest in having Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on the show. Writing Monday night on a social media post, he conveyed, "For the record the Harris campaign has not passed on doing the podcast. They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her and they only wanted to do an hour. I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin. My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen," as stated by KXAN.
