
Firefighters rushed to a residence in Woodland Hills on the afternoon of October 4th, on reports of a structure fire. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) first reported smoke billowing from a two-story home at 4901 N Winnetka Avenue. Responders aggressively attacked the blaze, going into offensive mode upon arrival. According to an LAFD alert, dispatched units included FS 93, Batt 17, and various supporting teams from the Valley Bureau, falling under Council District 3's jurisdiction.
The fire, indexed as Incident #0762, began showing signs at approximately 12:20 p.m. and soon drew a significant response from the fire department. The team at the scene included BC10 BC17 E104 E293 E472 E93 RA106 RA83 RA93 T93, with the operation coordinated over channel 9, as shared by battalion chief Nicholas Prange in a statement. Despite the severity of the initial reports, the incident did not result in any injuries as the homeowners were not present at the time.
The fire reached a knockdown status within 17 minutes, as indicated by LAFD's follow-up notification. The source of the fire appeared to be an electrical outlet, with damage confined near this point on a wall and contents in front of the outlet. A total of 26 firefighters were involved in the swift knockdown of the flames.
There were notable relief when it was confirmed that there were no victims of the incident according to the LAFD. The situation was contained before spreading beyond the affected area. Responded to the participating fire crews which included teams from FS 93 and E104 as well as E290, E293, E472, E83, E93, RA106, RA83, RA93, T90, and T93. Further investigations are underway to assess the full extent of the damage and to determine the precise causes behind the electrical fire outbreak.
