A Las Vegas family faced tragedy when Brandon Green was critically injured in a hit-and-run near South Durango Drive and Purple Flower Lane, according to News3LV. His wife, Esther Acosta, experienced intense emotions after initially being told by the Clark County Coroner's Office that her husband had died, only to later find out that there had been a misidentification and he was recovering at University Medical Center.

Despite the severe nature of Green's injuries which include fractured ribs, liver and kidney failure, blood clots, and bleeding from the brain said the wife, his condition improved slightly on his 37th birthday when he woke up after spending nearly a month in the ICU, and then, in a grim twist of fate, just days later Metro police mistakenly sent out an update claiming Green had passed away which was corrected the following day as they clarified the mix-up, further explaining he was still fighting for his life, and facing a long recovery period, according to 8 News Now.

Currently single-handedly caring for her two young daughters and coping with a recent family death, Acosta expressed a range of emotions from anger to heartbreak over her husband's condition. "I am angry, I'm frustrated, I'm heartbroken, I am sad, but I am happy that my husband is alive," she told News3LV. Acosta is also struggling to manage the financial burden of necessities for her young children amidst the ongoing challenge of not knowing who is responsible for her husband's injuries.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is searching for the driver of a white Acura TSX, believed to be from 2011-2014, with damage to the windshield, grill, and bumper. Meanwhile, the family has set up a GoFundMe to help with recovery costs and reduce financial stress. If you have any information about the incident, you're urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555, as Esther Acosta shared in an emotional statement to 8 News Now.
