In a development sure to please adrenaline-seekers and mountain biking enthusiasts, Lee Canyon is extending its mountain bike season into November, celebrating the success of its first full season. The resort also unveiled a new trail specifically designed to challenge expert riders, KTNV reports.
Lee Canyon's new mile-long mountain bike trail features gap jumps and a daring wooden drop. These additions are part of the resort's $17 million investment in upgrades over the past five years, which include new chairlifts, a downhill mountain bike park, expanded parking, and the Hillside Lodge, all aimed at enhancing the mountain experience, according to resort officials, as News3LV stated.
Strategically opening its fall operations Friday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Lee Canyon has leveraged the favorable conditions to extend the season beyond its initial end date. This move isn’t just about providing more time on the trails; it's also celebrating a year that saw a strong response from locals and tourists alike.
Amplifying this sentiment, John Lira, Lee Canyon's director of snow sports and summer activities, told KTNV, “Our park’s success is thanks to the commitment and passion of our local mountain bike community. We’ve watched more seasoned riders help newer riders progress.” The trail's opening day last Friday energized the biking community, with many riders eager to try the new challenging features.
As winter approaches and snow begins to dust the mountaintops, Lee Canyon is focused on starting the winter season in early December, weather permitting. For those wanting to switch from dirt paths to snowy slopes, winter season passes and daily tickets are already on sale, with details available through Lee Canyon's sales and information outlets.
