Last night, residents of the 1100 block of Elm Avenue were rattled when gunfire pierced the quiet of the neighborhood. According to a report by the Long Beach Police Department, issued just after midnight, officers swiftly responded to calls of shots fired at around 12:33 A.M. A follow-up investigation by the LBPD uncovered concrete evidence that a shooting had taken place, but they have not yet determined the motives behind it or identified a suspect responsible for the incident.
The incident, fortunately, did not result in any physical injuries. The LBPD is reaching out to the public for leads, anyone with information is urged to speak up, to help law enforcement connect the fragmented dots of yet another senseless bout of gunfire that threatens the community's peace.
