Autumn in Milwaukee just got a little more festive with the Milwaukee Public Market's 19th annual Harvest Festival, which took place yesterday. Celebrating nearly two decades of seasonal tradition, the market was bustling with activity from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. According to TMJ4, attendees enjoyed various activities, including the inaugural mini Harvest Market, featuring local farmers and growers.
The festival, as reported by FOX6 News, wasn't short on fall fun, with the event boasting live music, seasonal beverages, and returning fan favorites like pumpkin carving stations and scarecrow buildings. There was something for everyone, whether you were there to indulge in the festive bites or just soak in the energy radiating from Riverwalk Commons.
But let's not overlook the liquid libations – those over 21 could enjoy the quirky tradition of sampling Lakefront Brewery's pumpkin lager, served not from your standard tap but from a giant pumpkin. This boozy touch, along with other seasonal beverages, added a distinctly Milwaukee flavor to the festivities, as stated on the market's official event page.
The Milwaukee Public Market's commitment to community engagement was evident through its partnership with Hunger Task Force. Patrons were encouraged to bring healthy breakfast cereals, canned fruit, and vegetables—items that are most needed—to support community food drives. Additionally, cookbook author Lori Fredrich contributed by donating proceeds from her sales and offering recipes in exchange for donations, blending culinary passion with philanthropic purpose.
Special thanks are extended to 333 Water, Radio Milwaukee, Beer Capitol Distributing, and other Harvest Fest partners. The market's website highlights the collective effort that contributes to the festival's success. This spirit of community and celebration will continue to bring Milwaukeeans together year after year to enjoy the fruits of their homegrown talent and indulge in the joy that the autumn season brings.
