Early this morning, deputies were called to a residence on Erin Drive in Needles, California, where an instance of alleged domestic violence led to the arrest of a 34-year-old woman. The suspect, identified as Cynthia Jones, a resident of the area, was taken into custody after an altercation reportedly turned physical, and a window at a neighboring home was also shattered during the incident.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to the domestic disturbance call at around 1:30 a.m. and upon arrival, deputies found that Jones had apparently assaulted the victim—whose identity remains confidential in light of the sensitive nature of the case—and caused damage to property including but not limited to one broken window, according to a press release by the department. Jones now faces charges of felony spousal abuse and felony vandalism and is currently held at the Colorado River Station jail with a bail set at $50,000, awaiting further legal proceedings.
The department has encouraged anyone with further information on the case to come forward and contact Deputy C. Mestas at the Colorado River / Needles Police Department, offering confidentiality for those who wish to remain anonymous through the We-Tip Hotline.
While details surrounding the case are still unfolding, the Colorado River Station has asked the public to aid in the investigative process by reaching out with any pertinent details they may have, details which could prove crucial as the judicial system seeks to piece together the events of that night.
