A tragic scene unfolded Tuesday morning at Men's Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles where one individual lost his life and six others were hospitalized following a reported hazardous materials incident involving an unknown white powder substance, prompting a response from hazmat teams.
At approximately 8:40 a.m., emergency personnel rushed to address the crisis revealing that seven individuals, aged between 18 to 35, had been exposed to this substance, the response was initiated upon discovery of the white powder which has not yet been identified and investigations into its nature are ongoing, and while the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed six individuals were in mild distress when transported to local hospitals, one man, aged 35, unfortunately succumbed and was pronounced dead at the scene, KTLA reported.
