A 37-year-old man, Ryan Kellogg of Orange Village, has been arrested on charges including stalking, ethnic intimidation, and vandalism after being accused of spray painting antisemitic graffiti on homes in the village, Mayor Judson Kline and police officials reported. According to a FOX8 news release, the arrest follows incidents of graffiti targeting two homes along Orangewood Drive, where one was defaced with an antisemitic symbol.
Orange Village Police stated that an officer observing the area Sunday evening spotted Kellogg as he returned to the same house and began to spray repaint it. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including K-9s and an aviation unit, needed to finally apprehend him at his residence, as detailed by the WKYC news release. The collaborative effort involved officers from six jurisdictions, highlighting the severity with which authorities address the incident.
In a statement obtained by Cleveland19, Orange Village Police Chief Mike Roberts emphasized the department's commitment, stating, "The Orange Village Police Department will leave no resource unused in our pursuit, apprehension and prosecution of anyone that commits such cowardly and abhorrent attacks against anyone in our village." Kellogg is currently being held in the Solon Jail and faces multiple counts, including menacing by stalking, ethnic intimidation, vandalism, criminal damaging, and one count of resisting arrest.
Authorities believe that Kellogg acted alone in these crimes. He is due for arraignment today, as was echoed in announcements from both police and Mayor Kline, who, in an email newsletter, commended the swift actions of the police department and their partners. FOX8 reported Mayor Kline's words, "Through the swift, efficient and diligent work of our police and their collaboration with neighboring community resources, I am pleased to report that the individual responsible for these actions has been apprehended and in custody."
