The search for Lucky, a 10-year-old Airedale terrier mix stolen last month, has escalated to a high-visibility campaign. His image and information are now displayed across several Pittsburgh billboards. These billboards, prominently placed on Route 28, Race Track Road, Forbes Avenue, West Liberty Avenue, and Route 19, aim to solicit tips for the dog’s safe return to its 87-year-old owner. According to a report by WPXI, the Lamar Advertising Agency has generously provided these billboard spaces.
Beyond the billboards, a Facebook group named “Bring Lucky HOME to PA” has also sprung into action, rallying a digital search party of more than 10,000 members nationwide. The shared mission: unite Lucky with his family, a beacon of hope for the dog's owner in a time of distress. As per CBS News, the dog was inside the vehicle of his owner, Willard Martz, when it was hijacked at the Tractor Supply in East Huntingdon by a man who allegedly stole the keys from Martz's pocket.
Authorities later apprehended the suspect, Kenneth Crider, in North Carolina following a police chase, but Lucky was nowhere to be found in the vehicle. Officials relayed that Crider admitted to releasing the dog at a rest stop between Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Nash County, North Carolina. In light of this situation, a reward of $5,000 has been offered for information leading to Lucky’s rescue, bolstering the endeavors from nearby communities.
