Pittsburgh's iconic Roberto Clemente Bridge is being transformed for Oktoberfest celebrations, with a massive 60-foot Ferris wheel installed at its center, offering visitors an elevated view of the city like never before. Debuting from Oct. 3 through Oct. 13, the towering attraction will spin its riders across the Pittsburgh skyline daily, from noon to 10 p.m., and will extend its hours until midnight on Oct. 6. WPXI reported that the $5 tickets to enjoy the ride could be a delightful addition to the festivities.

In an anticipated move, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership aims to blend Bavarian tradition with the city's distinct charm. "We want this to be a celebration of community and cultural fusion that emphasizes Pittsburgh’s unique character and Oktoberfest’s traditional roots," Jeremy Waldrup, president and CEO of the organization, stated in an interview, as per WPXI. The Ferris wheel has deep roots in Pittsburgh's history. It was designed by the city's engineer, George Ferris, for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

Market Square will also participate in the celebrations, transforming into a Bavarian village complete with booths donned in traditional Oktoberfest flair. According to CBS News, Vendors offering various food and beers will be readily available, along with unique events such as stein-holding competitions and dachshund races.
