
A 55-year-old man from Redford was killed in a motorcycle crash in Monroe County, firefighters and state police shared. The incident occurred on the U.S. Turnpike near Roberts Road in Berlin Township last Friday afternoon.
Michigan State Police reported the man was riding a black Harley Davidson northbound when he lost control and his bike overturned. It was around 3:57 p.m. that authorities were dispatched to the scene where the man was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead. According to the Michigan State Police First District, he was not wearing a helmet, and although high rates of speed are believed to quickly be a factor, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to have contributed to the accident.
