The search for Suzanne Clark Simpson, a 51-year-old mother and realtor who went missing earlier this month, has turned up no evidence after a four-day search of a southeast Bexar County landfill. The Texas Department of Public Safety Rangers and the Olmos Park Police Department ended their efforts on Thursday after following a lead that yielded no trace of Simpson. Sgt. Deon Cockrell stated, "After conducting an extensive search consisting of digging and sifting through the municipal solid waste, no evidence was found," in a report by KSAT.
Investigators are trying to establish the timeline of Suzanne Simpson's disappearance, focusing on four different locations. The Texas DPS stated that the landfill search on Monday was based on information from the investigation, though they have not revealed the details. Meanwhile, her husband, Brad Simpson, is in custody at the Bexar County Jail facing multiple charges, including family violence and unlawful restraint, which adds urgency to the investigation.
Suzanne Simpson was reported missing by her husband on Monday night. Brad, 53, was arrested after neighbors reported seeing him physically restrain his wife the previous evening. His arrest has led to increased scrutiny from investigators, but no direct evidence links him to her disappearance. An affidavit shared by KENS 5 indicates that police are investigating multiple locations across several counties, but they still have more questions than answers.
The situation has become more complex as Brad Simpson now faces a federal felony charge after investigators found an unregistered short-barreled rifle in his home.
