
A fatal shooting in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood early Saturday has become the focus of an intense investigation by local authorities. According to a release from the Seattle Police Department, the incident left a 25-year-old woman dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Responding to a 911 call shortly after 1:30 A.M., police arrived at the 1400 block of 11th Avenue to discover the victim. Attempting life-saving measures until Seattle Fire Department personnel took over, the officers could not alter the course of tragedy – the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives at this stage have not established why the woman was targeted or who pulled the trigger. Officers from the Crime Scene Investigation Unit alongside Homicide detectives are thoroughly sweeping the scene for forensic evidence and canvassing the area for potential witnesses.
As the Homicide Unit digs deeper into the night's events, no suspects are currently held in custody. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward, suggesting that the smallest detail could prove crucial in piecing together the puzzle of this fatal encounter.
