An elderly Simi Valley resident lost his life following a motorcycle accident last week. Frederick Wachter, 75, succumbed to his injuries on September 29, days after the crash that occurred on September 26. According to KTLA, Wachter was riding eastbound on Mt. Sinai Dr. when he went off the roadway near Kuehner Dr. around 2:20 p.m.
The initial investigation by the Simi Valley Police Department did not indicate impairment on the part of the motorcycle rider, who managed to seriously injure himself in the accident. First responders performed life-saving measures before transporting Wachter to a local trauma center. The police had to close the road for several hours to thoroughly investigate the scene. Traffic Officer Cameron Schroeck is now looking to piece together exactly what happened and has urged any witnesses or anyone with video evidence to come forward in statements obtained by Nixle.
As the investigation continues, the Simi Valley Police Department seeks the public's assistance. They ask those who may have seen the crash or have related footage to immediately contact Investigator Cameron Schroeck by email or by calling 805-583-6248.
