In a recent pursuit initiated by the Harris County Constable's Office, a stolen vehicle case ended with a suspect behind bars. According to the Facebook page of Constable Mark Herman, deputies were dispatched to the 5500 block of Enchanted Oaks Drive on Wednesday responding to reports of a potentially stolen car. On-site, law enforcement managed to track down the vehicle and signal it to pull over. However, the driver, later identified as Logan Fontenot, hammered down the gas pedal, choosing flight over surrender.
During the chase, deputies navigated the streets until the suspect slipped away in a construction zone. After losing sight of the vehicle, the deputies regrouped and soon caught Fontenot on foot, locating the hidden vehicle nearby in a wooded area, as reported on the Constable's Facebook page.
Faced with the authorities, Fontenot conceded his role in the high-speed drama and admitted to driving the stolen car. An ensuing investigation by the deputies unraveled a key programmer in his possession, a device often linked with car thefts. Further examination exposed that Fontenot was no stranger to defiance; he was already out on bond for evading arrest in another vehicle incident.
"Logan Fontenot was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest in a motor vehicle. His bond has not been set at this time out of the 179th District Court," Constable Mark Herman outlined in a Facebook post.
