A series of home invasions in Monroe Township which occurred on October 8 have led to the arrest of 25-year-old Bailey Austin Herrell. According to the WTOL, Herrell is suspected of intruding into homes in the Meadowbrook Mobile Home Community.
Herrell was under surveillance by Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies on October 10, after being linked to the break-ins and identified as having several unrelated outstanding warrants. When deputies tried to stop his vehicle at the intersection of Telegraph and Dunbar roads, Herrell fled but was eventually apprehended on Eastwood Street in the Evergreen Acres subdivision, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit. At the time of his arrest, he was charged with resisting and obstructing police and carrying a concealed weapon.
Further investigation resulted in the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office filing additional charges against Herrell, as per ClickOnDetroit. He is now facing one count of first-degree and one count of second-degree home invasion. Following his arraignment yesterday, Herrell's bond was set at $50,000 for both cases, and his bond conditions were established as cash or surety.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has invited the public to contribute any information relevant to these incidents. Detective Kenneth Dodds can be contacted at 734-240-7537, for anyone with potentially valuable insights or evidence.
