Police in Upper Merion Township are on the lookout for two individuals involved in a high-stakes theft at the King of Prussia Mall, specifically targeting the Breitling Watch store last week. According to NBC Philadelphia, the theft occurred on Thursday, Oct. 10 just before 4:30 p.m. The suspects are accused of having walked directly to a display case and smashed the glass with a hammer, swiftly taking several watches valued at about $93,000 before fleeing the scene.
The entire episode unfolded in less than 20 seconds, with Breitling employees witnessing the suspects hastily enter a back hallway of the mall after the heist. As Action News reported, this isn't the first time the Breitling Watch store has been hit by thieves, with a $43,000 theft reported about a year ago and in May, another robbery totaling $40,000 in stolen merchandise.
Upper Merion Township Police Department provided descriptions of the suspects involved in the latest incident. One suspect is described as a heavy-set man in his 30s or 40s, with a beard, seen wearing a navy blue hooded Nike-branded sweatshirt, as detailed by NBC Philadelphia. The other suspect is described as a thin man in his 20s or 30s, wearing a red and black Nike-branded windbreaker jacket and a full face mask.
