An altercation involving a group of teenagers near a Circle K in Boulder on Thursday has led to multiple felony charges for one juvenile, following an incidence of violence that left some with minor injuries. According to the City of Boulder, the scuffle broke out around noon at the convenience store located at 14th Street and Canyon Boulevard.
The fight quickly escalated when one of the teens brandished a gun this terrifying event coincided with Boulder High School's lunch break, where many students had assembled at nearby food trucks, the situation devolved rapidly when the armed juvenile allegedly struck another youth in the head. A bystander pumping gas at the time witnessed the event and promptly called 911, alerting the authorities to both the fight and the presence of the firearm. In response, police and Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) security personnel quickly converged on the scene.
During the subsequent chaos, the gun was removed from the immediate area and has not yet been recovered, despite an extensive search by police K9 units. The nature of the weapon, whether it is a real gun or a replica, remains uncertain with video footage of the incident offering no conclusive evidence.
