An Ohio father is facing charges after a driving lesson with his nine-year-old son took a dangerous turn. The man was allegedly intoxicated as he attempted to instruct his child to back out of a driveway. The lesson ended with the father being run over by the vehicle, WTOL 11 reported.

Clejuan Williams, 36, of Toledo, found himself beneath the car he used to teach his son. First responders transported Williams to a hospital, but the severity of his injuries and his current condition remain undisclosed, FOX28 highlighted.

According to the local CBS affiliate in Toledo, Williams was standing at the door while his son was in the driver's seat during the lesson. The boy, unfamiliar with the controls, pressed the gas pedal instead of the brakes, causing the car to strike Williams and drag him beneath it. This led to Williams facing charges including child endangerment and wrongful entrustment of a vehicle, as specified in court documents obtained by WHIO.

Moreover, an affidavit to the summons filed in Toledo Clerk of Court by Officer Nicole Tucker stated that Williams had allowed his child to "press the pedals," resulting in the car reversing into a pole across the street, further reported by FOX8. Williams' arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 16, where he will face the allegations against him, according to a statement from PEOPLE.
