
The Bellevue Police Department is investigating a tragic incident that occurred Tuesday evening in the Lake Hills neighborhood, where a three-year-old child was killed after being hit by a vehicle. The collision took place around 7:10 p.m. in the 14100 block of SE 4th Street, within the premises of an apartment complex.
According to the Bellevue Beat Blog, the child was walking alongside her mother when a 45-year-old male driving a white Chevy truck, backed into a parking stall and struck the child. Both the driver and the child's mother rushed to administer life-saving efforts, but, tragically the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Immediate action was taken by the Bellevue Police to investigate the circumstances of the collision. The driver was reported to have been cooperative with the authorities, and interviews were conducted as part of the preliminary investigation. Law enforcement also checked for any signs of impairment on the part of the driver.
