Minnesota Governor and Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz arrived in Sacramento yesterday for a day of campaign activities. He was welcomed by California political leaders, including Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis, Rep. Doris Matsui, and Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg. This visit is part of a West Coast fundraising tour aimed at strengthening support for the Harris-Walz ticket, as reported by KCRA 3.
The vice presidential hopeful made his way from the airport to one of the most significant political fundraisers in Sacramento's history, hosted in the home of Governor Gavin Newsom. Organizers and attendees have reportedly raised a hefty $1.5 million so far for the Harris Victory Fund, according to KCRA 3.
This fundraising effort comes at a critical time for the Democratic campaign, with the Harris team announcing at the beginning of September a war chest of $404 million on hand. The Trump campaign, around the same point, reported having approximately $295 million, as FOX40 illuminated in their coverage.
Prior to arriving in the state capital, Walz made stops around Southern California and flew to Seattle, expanding his reach and bolstering support on the West Coast. His campaign trail also included an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and a visit to an exhibition honoring victims of a recent attack in Israel, according to the coverage by FOX40.
